One reason why people think that they will not rise again before the last judgement takes place, when also the entire visible world is going to be destroyed, is that they have not understood the Word. Another reason is that people whose thought does not rise above the level of the senses suppose that life itself resides solely in the body, and think that if this were not restored to life the person would be no more.
