[NCE]1196. The Pathrusim and Casluhim mean nations by these names, and they symbolize doctrinal positions regarding ritual, which come from the same origin and are themselves purely secular. This is evident from the statements just made and from the position of these nations in the sequence. For passages about the people of Pathros, see Isaiah 11:11-12; Ezekiel 29:13-14, 15; 30:13-14; Jeremiah 44:1, 15.

Potts(1905-1910) 1196

1196. That "the Pathrusim and Casluhim" are nations so called, and that they signify doctrinals of rituals from a similar origin, which were only matters of memory-knowledge, is evident from what has been stated; and from their following in this manner in the series. Concerning the Pathrusim see in Isa. 11:11-12; Ezek. 29:13-15; 30:13-14; Jer. 44:1, 15.

Elliott(1983-1999) 1196

1196. 'Pathrusim and Casluhim' are nations so called who mean matters of doctrine that are formed into rituals from a similar origin and that exist solely as items of knowledge. This is evident from what has been stated, and from the fact that they follow in that sequence. Regarding the Pathrusim, see Isa 11:11, 12; Ezek 29:13-15; 30:13, 14; Jer 44:1, 15

Latin(1748-1756) 1196

(x)xliv 1, 15.
