415. And I looked, and I heard an angel flying in the midst of heaven. (8:13) This symbolizes instruction and prediction from the Lord.
In the highest sense an angel means the Lord, and so also something from the Lord (no. 344). And to fly in the midst of heaven and speak means, symbolically, to perceive and understand, and when said of the Lord, to foresee and provide (no. 245). But here it means to instruct and predict.
415. [verse 13] 'And I saw and heard one angel flying in the midst of heavens signifies instruction and prediction by the Lord. By an 'angel' in the highest sense is understood the Lord, and consequently also anything from the Lord (344); and by 'to fly in the midst of heaven and to say' is signified to perceive and understand, and when [this is said] of the Lord, to foresee and provide (245), but here to instruct and predict.
415. Verse 13. And I saw and I heard an angel flying in the midst of heaven, signifies instruction and prediction from the Lord. By "an angel," in the highest sense, is meant the Lord, and thence also something from the Lord, (344) and by "flying in the midst of heaven and saying," is signified to perceive and understand, and when concerning the Lord, to foresee and provide, (245); but here, to instruct and foretell.
415. (Vers. 13.)
