Apocalypse Revealed (Rogers translation 2007) 553

553. Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, "Now salvation, and power, and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of His Christ have come." (12:10) This symbolizes the joy of angels in heaven that the Lord alone now reigns in heaven and the church, and that those people are saved who believe in Him.

A loud voice in heaven symbolizes the joy of angels in heaven, and that is why the text later says in verse 12, "Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them!" The voice is also said to be loud because it is uplifted owing to a heartfelt joy. That salvation and power have come means, symbolically, that people are now saved by the Lord's Divine power. And that the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come means, symbolically, because the Lord alone reigns in heaven and in the church. That God means the Divine itself from which springs all else, namely the Divine called Jehovah, the Father, and that His Christ means the Divine humanity called the Son of God, may be seen in no. 520 above. So then, because the Divine itself from which all else springs and the Lord's Divine humanity are united as soul and body, it follows that the Lord alone reigns.

This is what is meant by the gospel of the kingdom and the kingdom of God in Matthew 3:2; 4:17, 23; 7:21; 9:35; 11:11; 12:28; Mark 1:14-15; 9:1; 15:43.

[2] That the Lord has all authority in heaven and on earth is clearly apparent in Matthew 28:18, John 3:35; 17:2, 10.

That those people are saved who are in the Lord and have the Lord in them, and that it is the Divine humanity in which they are, is clearly apparent in John, chapters 14, 15, 17. And that only those are saved who believe in Him is clear from the following passages:

As many as received Him, to them He gave the power to become children of God, to those who believe in His name. (John 1:12)

...that whoever believes in (the Son) should not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:15)

...God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should... have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

He who believes in (the Son) is not judged, but he who does not believe is judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (John 3:18)

He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; but he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him. (John 3:36)

He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst... Assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life. (John 6:33, 35, 47)

Unless you believe that I am, you will die in your sins. (John 8:24)

Jesus said..., "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. Everyone who lives and believes in Me shall never die. (John 11:25-26)

And so on elsewhere, as in John 6:38-40; 7:37-38; 8:12; 12:36, 46.

To believe in the Lord is to turn directly to Him and have confidence that He will save. And because no one can have that confidence unless he lives rightly, therefore this, too, is meant by believing in Him. See no. 67 above.

Apocalypse Revealed (Coulson translation 1970) 553

553. [verse 10] 'And I heard a great voice saying in heaven, Now have the salvation and power become effective, and the kingdom of our God and the sovereignty of His Christ' signifies the joy of the angels of heaven that now the Lord Only reigns in heaven and in the Church and that they are saved who believe in Him. By 'a great voice in heaven' is signified the joy of the angels of heaven. Therefore it follows, 'For this rejoice, O heavens, and you inhabitants therein' (verse 12). The 'voice' is also 'great' because it is lifted up by reason of joy of heart. 'The salvation and power have become effective' signifies that now they are saved as a result of the Lord's Divine Power. 'And the kingdom of our God and the sovereignty of His Christ' signifies because the Only Lord reigns in heaven and the Church. That by 'God' is understood the Divine Itself out of Which [are all things], which is called Jehovah the Father, and by 'His Christ' the Divine Human which is called 'the Son of God,' may be seen above (520). And because the Divine Itself out of Which [are all things] and the Lord's Divine Human are one, in the manner of soul and body, it follows that the Lord Only reigns. This is understood by the gospel of the kingdom and by the kingdom of God (Matthew 3:2; 4:17, 23; 7:21-22; 9:35; 11:11; 12:28; Mark 1:14-15; 9:1; 15:43; Luke 4:43; 8:1; 9:60; 10:8-11; 11:17-18, 20; 16:16; 21:30-31; 22:18; 23:50-51).

[2] That the Lord has all authority in heaven and on earth is quite plain in Matthew 28:18; John 3:35; 17:2, 10. That those are saved who are in the Lord and the Lord in them, and that it is the Divine Human in which they are (John 14; 15; 17). And that no others are saved but those who believe in Him is established from these passages:

As many as have received Him, to them has He given authority to become the sons of God to those believing in His Name. John 1:12.

That everyone who believes in the Son should not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:15.

God valued the world so much that He gave His Only-begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him may have eternal life. John 3:16.

He who believes in the Son is not being judged, but he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the Name of the Only-begotten Son of God. John 3:18.

He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him. John 3:36.

He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. Verily I say unto you, He who believes in Me has eternal life. John 6:33, 35, 47.

Unless you believe that I am, you shall die in your sins. John 8:24.

Jesus said, I am the Resurrection and the Life, he who believes in Me, though he were dead, shall live; for whosoever lives and believes in Me shall not die to eternity. John 11:25-26; besides elsewhere, as John 6:38-40; 7:37-38; 8:12; 12:36, 46. 1To believe in the Lord is to approach Him directly and to have confidence that He will save, and because no one can have confidence unless he lives well, therefore this also is understood by 'to believe in Him.' This may be seen above (67).

Apocalypse Revealed (Whitehead translation 1928) 553

553. Verse 10. And I heard a great voice in heaven, saying, Now is come the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ, signifies the joy of the angels of heaven, because the Lord alone now reigns in heaven and in the church, and because they are saved who believe in him. By "a great voice in heaven" is signified the joy of the angels of heaven; for which reason it follows, "Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them," verse 12; the voice also is great because it is exalted from joy of heart. "Now is come the salvation and the power" signifies that now they are saved from the Lord's Divine power; "and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ" signifies because the Lord alone reigns in heaven and in the church. That by "God" is meant the Divine Itself from whom are all things, and which is called Jehovah the Father; and by "Christ" is meant His Divine Human which is called the Son of God, may be seen above, (520); and because the Divine from whom are all things, and the Lord's Divine Human are one, like the soul and the body, it follows that the Lord alone reigns. This is meant by "the gospel of the kingdom," and by "the kingdom of God."(Matthew 3:2; 4:17, 23; 7:21; 9:35; 11:11; 12:28; Mark 1:14-15; 9:1; 15:43; Luke 4:43; 8:1; 9:60; 10:8-11; 11:17-18, 20; 16:16; 21:31; 22:18; 23:50-51.

[2] That the Lord has all power in heaven and on earth, appears manifestly in Matthew 28:18; John 3:35; 17:2, 10. That they are saved who are in the Lord and the Lord in them, and that it is the Divine Human in which they are, John 17:14-15, 17; and that no others are saved, but they that believe in Him, appears from these passages:

As many as received Him, to them He gave power to become the sons of God, to them that believe in His name, (John 1:12).

That everyone that believeth in the Son should not perish, but have eternal life, (John 3:18).

God so loved the world, that He gave His Only-begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him may have eternal life, (John 3:16).

He that believeth in the Son is not judged; but he that believeth not is judged already, because he hath not believed in the name of the Only-begotten Son of God, (John 3:18).

He that believeth in the Son hath eternal life, but he that believeth not the Son, shall not see life, but the anger of God abideth on him, (John 3:36).

He that cometh to me shall never hunger, and he that believeth in Me shall never thirst. Verily I say unto you, he that believeth in Me hath eternal life, (John 6:33, 35, 47).

Unless ye believe that I am, ye shall die in your sins, (John 8:24).

Jesus said, I am the resurrection and the life, he that believeth in Me, though he were dead, shall live; whosoever liveth and believeth in Me, shall not die to eternity, (John 11:25-26 besides other places as in 6:38-40; 7:37-38; 8:12; 12:36-46.

To believe in the Lord is to approach Him immediately, and to have confidence that He saves; and since no one can have this confidence except he who lives well, therefore this also is meant by "believing in Him" (see above, 67).

Apocalypsis Revelata 553 (original Latin 1766)

553. (Vers. 10.)

"Ut omnis qui Credit in Filium non pereat, sed vitam aeternam habeat," (Johannes 3:15);

"Adeo dilexit Deus mundum ut Filium Suum Unigenitum dederit, ut omnis qui Credit in Ipsum, vitam aeternam habeat," (Johannes 3:16);

"Qui Credit in Filium non judicatur: qui autem non credit jam judicatus est, quia non credidit in Nomen Unigeniti Filii Dei," (Johannes 3:18);

"Qui Credit in Filium habet vitam aeternam, qui vero non credit Filio non videbit vitam, sed ira Dei manet super illo," (Johannes 3:36);

"Qui venit ad Me non esuriet, et qui Credit in Me non sitiet unquam. Amen dico vobis, qui Credit in Me habet vitam aeternam," (Johannes 6:33, 35, 47);

"Nisi Credideritis quod Ego sim, moriemini in peccat vestris," (Johannes 8:24);
