290. The Lord from eternity, or Jehovah, brought forth the sun of the spiritual world out of himself, and created the universe and all its contents from it. Part 2 of the present work dealt with the sun of the spiritual world, and the following points were made there. In the spiritual world, divine love and wisdom look like a sun (83-88). Spiritual warmth and spiritual light emanate from that sun (89-92). That sun is not God. Rather, it is an emanation from the divine love and wisdom of the Divine-Human One. The same is true of warmth and light from that sun (93-98). The sun of the spiritual world is seen at a middle elevation, as far from angels as the physical world's sun is from us (103-107). The east in the spiritual world is where the Lord is seen as the sun, and the other directions follow from that (119-124 [119-123], 125-128 [124-128]). Angels always face the Lord as the sun (129-134, 135-139). The Lord created the universe and everything in it by means of that sun that is the first emanation of divine love and wisdom (151-156). The physical world's sun is nothing but fire and is therefore dead; and since nature has its origin in that sun, it is dead. Further, the physical world's sun was created so that the work of creation could be finished off and completed (157-162). There would be no creation if it were not for this pair of suns, one living and one dead (163-166).
290. The Lord from eternity, or Jehovah, produced from Himself the sun of the spiritual world, and out of it created the universe and all of its constituents. We discussed the sun of the spiritual world in Part Two of this work, and in it we showed the following:
That Divine love and wisdom appear in the spiritual world as the sun (nos. 83-88). That from that sun emanate spiritual heat and light (nos. 89-92). That that sun is not God, but that it is an emanation of the Divine love and wisdom of the human God; so, too, the heat and light from that sun (nos. 93-98). That the sun in the spiritual world is at a middle height and appears as distant from the angels as the sun in the natural world does from people (nos. 103-107). That in the spiritual world, the east is where the Lord appears as the sun, and the other points of the compass are determined in relation to it (nos. 119-128). That angels turn their faces continually to the Lord as the sun (nos. 129-139). That the Lord created the universe and everything in it by means of that sun, which is the first emanation of His Divine love and wisdom (nos. 151-156). That the sun in the natural world is nothing but fire, and that nature, which takes its origin from that sun, is consequently lifeless; moreover, that the sun in the natural world was created in order that the work of creation might be completed and concluded (nos. 157-162). That without the two suns, one alive and the other lifeless, creation would not exist (nos. 163-166).

The Sun of the spiritual world was treated of in Part II of this work, and the following facts were there set forth:
The Divine Love and Wisdom appear in the spiritual world as a Sun, (83-88).
Spiritual heat and light go forth from that Sun. (89-92).
That Sun is not God, but it is a going forth from the Divine Love and Wisdom of God-Man; it is the same with the heat and light from that Sun (93-98).
The Sun of the spiritual world is in the middle altitude, and appears distant from the angels as the sun of the natural world from men (103-107).
In the spiritual world the east is where the Lord appears as a Sun, and the remaining quarters are thence determined (119-123, 124-128).
Angels turn their faces continually to the Lord as a Sun (129-134, 135-139).
The Lord created the universe and everything therein by means of the Sun which is the first proceeding of the Divine Love and Wisdom (151-156).
The sun of the natural world is pure fire, and nature which derives its origin from that sun, is consequently dead; and the sun of the natural world was created in order that the work of creation might be completed and finished (157-162).
Without two suns, the one living and the other dead, creation is not possible (163-166).
