291. Since all divinity is in the Lord, he has all power in heaven and on earth. This he himself tells us in John: "The Father has given all things into the hand of the Son" (John 3:35); again, "The Father has given the Son power over all flesh" (John 17:2); in Matthew, "All things have been delivered to me by the Father" (Matthew 11:27); and again, "All power has been given to me in heaven and on earth" (Matthew 28:18). Divinity is that kind of power.
291. Since everything in the Lord is divine, he has all power in heaven and on earth. In John he said that the Father “handed everything over to the Son” (John 3:35), and that the Father gave the Son “authority over all human beings” (John 17:2).
In Matthew he said, “The Father has handed everything over to me” (Matthew 11:27), and “I have been given all power in heaven and on earth” (Matthew 28:18). This kind of power is divine power.
291. Since the whole Deity is in the Lord, He has all power in the heavens and on earth. This too is what He says in John:
The Father has given everything into the Son's hand. John 3:35.
