110. The ancient Church people beheld in physical objects spiritual and heavenly things, and therefore they were in company with spirits and angels. In the objects of the senses, the [men of the] Ancient Church looked at and perceived spiritual and celestial things; wherefore they had companionship with spirits and angels.
