2861. For there are kinds and species of spirits with this ability, who, when resemblances are called to a person's memory and then portrayed to them, imagine they are those same people. Then all those characteristics are called forth from the memory that portray them, including vocabulary, tone of voice, gestures, and more. Moreover, they are persuaded to imagine this, since other spirits inspire them, for then they are in the fantasy of [the other spirits], imagining that they are those same persons. 1748, 19 Aug.
2861. For there are genera and species of spirits of similar faculty [who] when similar are called up into man's memory, and thus are represented to them, they suppose they are the same. Then from the memory are worked all those things which represent them, also words, speech, sound, gestures and many things. Moreover they are so induced to think, when other spirits inspire them, for then they are in the phantasy of those [other spirits] and suppose they are the same. - 1748 August 19.
1748, 19 Aug.
