3600. It is also obvious from these things that love, caring and compassion do not exist only by being moved, unless higher knowledge of faith is present, thus an understanding instructed in higher knowledge of faith - consequently unless there is a conscience formed from such knowledge.
3600. It appears also from this, that love, charity, and compassion do not exist, if they be a mere affection [or sentiment], unless there be [also] the knowledges of faith, thus an understanding instructed in the knowledges of faith without these there is no [true] conscience.
3600. Exinde quoque constare potest, quod amor, charitas, et misericordia non sit, si sola affectio, nisi sint cognitiones fidei, ita intellectus instructus cognitionibus fidei, proinde absque conscientia inde.
