4372. Thoughts come down into symbolic portrayals, such as the Lord's Parables
I understood from angelic spirits when I was gathering seeds that they were thinking about the last times, when the good seeds are separated from the bad [Matt. 13:24-30]. So it is in the other cases, to such an extent that all things the Lord said in parables are such as good spirits portray to themselves, especially when a person on earth who lives in charity only thinks of any kind of seed, without reflecting on heavenly matters - so in all other cases. 1749, 24 Aug. 1

4372. THAT THOUGHTS FALL INTO REPRESENTATIVES, LIKE THE PARABLES OF THE LORD.
While collecting seeds, I perceived from angelic spirits that their thoughts were upon the last times when the good seed should be separated from the bad, and in like manner in other things; so that what the Lord spoke by parables are such things as good spirits represent to themselves, especially while the man who lives in charity thinks concerning any kind of seed, without reflection upon celestial things; and so in regard to everything else. - 1749, August 24.
1749, 24 Aug.
