5572. About demons and their hells
The demons dwell deep down at the back and spread out widely there under the hells of spirits from which they are kept apart and separated by a hard as it were rock which cannot be penetrated because there is no communication, except through intermediaries, as there is between the heavenly and the spiritual. Also, they interact with heavenly ones: they are governed and controlled by the Lord through them.
5572. ABOUT THE GENII AND THEIR HELLS.
The genii dwell deep down at the back, and there spread themselves widely under the hells of spirits, from whom they are distinguished and separated, by, as it were, a hard rock, which can never be penetrated, because there is no communication except through intermediates, - just as between the celestial and the spiritual. They also correspond to the celestials, and are ruled and kept in subjection by the Lord, through them.
5572. De geniis et infernis eorum
Genii habitant profunde a tergo et ibi late se effundunt, sub infernis spirituum, a quibus distincti et separati sunt per duram quasi petram, quae penetrari nequit, quia non datur communicatio, nisi per intermedios, sicut inter coelestes et spirituales, correspondent etiam coelestibus, a Domino per illos reguntur et domantur.
