3954# "神听了利亚的祈求"象征神性之爱。这可以从"听某人"在描述神或主时的意义中看出,因为这表示神按照人的祈求与愿望行事,而这源于神性良善,而神性良善又来自神性之爱。因此,在至高意义上,"听某人"象征神性之爱。

  3954.“神垂听了利亚”表神性之爱。这从“垂听”某人的含义清楚可知,当论及神或主时,“垂听”是指神性之爱;因为“垂听”某人意味着实行他所祈求和渴望的事。由于祂出于神性良善行事,而神性良善出自神性之爱,故神性之爱就是“垂听”某人在至高意义上的含义。圣言内义的情况乃是这样:当字义升向天堂,在那里进入主为思维的源头,主及其事物为思维的主题所在的气场时,字义最后变成内义,如天使所觉察的那样。对天使来说,内义就是圣言,字义作为他们思考的基础或方法而服务于内义。事实上,字义无法到达天使那里,因为它大部分论述的是世俗、地上和肉体事物,而天使不会思考这些事物,他们处于属灵和属天的事物,因而远在世俗事物之上。因此,既能服务人、又能服务于天使的圣言已被赐下。在这方面,圣言不同于其它一切着作。

3954. And God hearkened unto Leah. That this signifies the Divine love, is evident from the signification of "hearkening" to anyone, when predicated of God or the Lord, as being the Divine love; for hearkening to anyone is doing what he prays for and desires. As this is from Divine good, and Divine good comes from the Divine love, by "hearkening" to anyone is signified in the supreme sense the Divine love. For with the internal sense of the Word the case is that when the sense of the letter ascends toward heaven, and thus enters into the sphere where the thought is from the Lord and concerning the Lord and what belongs to the Lord, it is at last so perceived by the angels; for the internal sense is the Word to the angels, whereto the sense of the letter serves as a plane or means of thinking. For the sense of the letter cannot come to the angels, because it treats in most places of worldly, earthly, and corporeal things, of which the angels cannot think, because they are in spiritual and celestial things, and thus far above what is earthly. For this reason a Word has been given that can serve man and at the same time the angels. In this the Word differs from every other writing.

3954. 'God hearkened to Leah' means Divine love. This is clear from the meaning of 'hearkening to someone', when it has reference to God or the Lord, as Divine love; for 'hearkening to someone' means carrying out what he prays for and desires. And because He acts from Divine Good, and Divine Good comes from Divine love, Divine love is the meaning in the highest sense of 'hearkening to someone'. For the situation with the internal sense of the Word is that when the literal sense rises up towards heaven and there enters the sphere where the Lord is the source of thought, and where the Lord and things that are His are the subject of thought, the literal sense finally becomes, as perceived by the angels, the internal sense. For to the angels the internal sense is the Word, for which the sense of the letter serves as the groundwork or means of their thinking. Indeed the sense of the letter is unable to reach the angels because it deals in most places with worldly, earthly, and bodily matters, about which angels are unable to think since they live among things of a spiritual and celestial nature and so they are far above the former. A Word has been given therefore which is able to serve mankind and at the same time angels. In this respect the Word is different from all other literature.
