Apocalypse Explained (Tansley translation 1923) 564

564. One woe is past; and, behold, there come yet two woes after these.- That this signifies one lamentation over the devastation of the church, and that lamentation over its further devastation follows, is evident from the signification of woe, as denoting lamentation over the evils and the falsities therefrom which vastate the church; see above (n. 532).

Apocalypse Explained (Whitehead translation 1912) 564

564. Verse 12. One woe is past, behold there come yet two woes after this, signifies one lamentation over the devastation of the church, and that a lamentation over its further devastation follows. This is evident from the signification of "woe," as being a lamentation over the evils and the falsities therefrom that devastate the church (See above, n. 531).

Apocalypsis Explicata 564 (original Latin 1759)

564. [Vers. 12.] "Vae unum praeteriit, ecce veniunt adhuc duo vae post haec."

).
