854. (Verse 2) And I heard a voice out of heaven, as the voice of many waters. That this signifies the glorification of the Lord from the Divine truths, which are from Himself, is clear from the signification of a voice out of heaven, as denoting the glorification of the Lord. For a voice out of heaven involves the things that are spoken therefrom, and which now follow, and are especially contained in the new song, by which is signified acknowledgment and confession of the Lord; and from the signification of many waters, as denoting Divine truths, which are from the Lord.
That by waters, in the Word, are signified Divine truths, may be seen above (n. Apoc. 1:15).
And in the following:
"I heard the voice of a great trumpet, and as the voice of many waters, and as it were the voice of mighty thunderings" (Apoc. 19:6).
Similarly
The sound of the wings of the cherubs was heard as the sound of great waters (Ezekiel 1:24).
854. Verse 2. And I heard a voice from heaven as the voice of many waters, signifies glorification of the Lord from the Divine truths that are from Him. This is evident from the signification of "a voice from heaven" as being the glorification of the Lord, since "a voice from heaven" involves the things thus spoken, and these here follow, and are especially contained in "the new song," by which acknowledgment and confession of the Lord are signified. Also from the signification of "many waters," as being Divine truths that are from the Lord. That "waters" signify in the Word Divine truths, may be seen above (n. Revelation 1:15).
Also in the following words:
I heard the voice of a great multitude, and as it were the voice of many waters, and as it were the voice of mighty thunders (Revelation 19:6).
And again:
The sound of the wings of the cherubim was heard like the sound of great waters (Ezekiel 1:24).
854. [Vers. 2.]
Cujus "vox erat sicut sonitus aquarum multarum" (Apocalypsis 1:15);
et in sequentibus,
"Audivi vocem turbae multae, et quasi vocem aquarum multarum, et quasi vocem tonitruorum validorum" (Apocalypsis 19:6):
similiter
Sonus alarum cheruborum auditus est quasi sonus aquarum magnarum (Ezechiel 1:24).
