That this signifies a representative of heaven in general where the Lord is, is evident from the signification of "the Tent of meeting," and of "the ark," as being a representative of heaven (see n. 9457, 9481, 9485, 9784). That it denotes a representative of heaven in general, is because by the Tent of meeting within the veil where was the ark, was represented the inmost or third heaven (n. 9485); by the Tent of meeting outside the veil, the middle or second heaven; and by the court, the ultimate heaven (n. 9741).
