Here the subject to be treated of is the correspondence of the cerebrum and the cerebellum, and of the medullas connected with them. But before entering upon this correspondence, some things must be premised concerning the form of the brain in general, whence it is, and what it represents.

In this section the correspondence of the cerebrum and cerebellum, and of the medullary parts which are joined on to them, is to be the subject. But before this correspondence is dealt with, some preliminary remarks must be made about the form of the brain in general, about the origin of that form, and what it represents.
