  5285.创世记41:33-36.如今法老要看定一个有聪明有智慧的人,派他治理埃及地。法老当这样行,让他派官员管理这地。当七年丰收的时候,征收埃及地的五分之一;叫他们把将来好年头一切的粮食聚敛起来,积蓄五谷在法老手下,收存在各城里作食物,让他们保管。这粮食可以为这地作储备,以应付埃及地将来的七年饥荒,免得这地被饥荒所剪灭。

5285. Verses 33-36. And now let Pharaoh see a man intelligent and wise, and set him over the land of Egypt. Let Pharaoh do this, and let him appoint governors over the land, and take the fifth of the land of Egypt in the seven years of abundance of produce. And let them gather all the food of those good years that come, and heap up corn under the hand of Pharaoh for food in the cities, and let them guard it. And the food shall be for a store to the land against the seven years of famine that shall be in the land of Egypt, and the land shall not be cut off in the famine. "And now let Pharaoh see," signifies the looking forward of the natural; "a man intelligent and wise," signifies about the inflowing truth and good; "and set him over the land of Egypt," signifies that will bring into order all things in the natural mind; "let Pharaoh do this," signifies further looking forward; "and let him appoint governors over the land," signifies the orderly arrangement of generals in the natural; "and take up the fifth of the land of Egypt," signifies that were to be preserved and afterward stored up; "in the seven years of abundance of produce," signifies that had been instilled at the times when truths with goods were multiplied; "and let them gather all the food," signifies all things that are of use; "of those good years that come," signifies that are to be gathered in at those times; "and heap up corn," signifies every good of truth at the same time; "under the hand of Pharaoh," signifies for need and consequent disposal in the natural; "for food in the cities," signifies such things in the interiors of the natural mind; "and let them guard it," signifies there to be laid up in store; "and the food shall be for a store to the land," signifies that it shall be there for every use of the natural; "against the seven years of famine," signifies according to the need in cases of deficiency; "that shall be in the land of Egypt," signifies that shall be in the natural; "and the land shall not be cut off in the famine," signifies lest the man should perish.

5285. Verses 33-36 And now let Pharaoh seea a man with intelligence and wisdom, and set him over the land of Egypt. Let Pharaoh do this, and let him place governors in charge over the land, and let him take up the fifth part of the land of Egypt in the seven years of abundance of corn. And let them gather all the food of these good years that are coming, and let them store up grain under the hand of Pharaoh - food in the cities; and let them guard it. And let the food be for a reserve for the land, for the seven years of famine which there will be in the land of Egypt, and the land will not be cut off in the famine.

'And now let Pharaoh see' means provision to be made by the natural. 'A man with intelligence and wisdom' means with regard to inflowing truth and good. 'And set him over the land of Egypt' means which will set in order all that is in the natural mind. 'Let Pharaoh do this' means a further provision. 'And let him place governors in charge over the land' means the ordering of general wholes within the natural. 'And let him take up the fifth part of the land of Egypt' means which are to be preserved and then stored away. 'In the seven years of abundance of corn' means which are instilled during the times when truths along with forms of good have been multiplied. 'And let them gather all the food' means all things that have a useful purpose. 'Of these good years that are coming' means which are to be taken in during those times. 'And let them store up grain' means at the same time every good of truth. 'Under the hand of Pharaoh' means for when there is need and the consequent power of disposal in the natural. 'Food in the cities' means such things present in the interior parts of the natural mind. 'And let them guard it' means to be stored away there. 'And let the food be for a reserve for the land' means that it should be kept there for every useful purpose served by the natural. 'For the seven years of famine' means as need arises when there is an absence [of truth].'Which there will be in the land of Egypt' means which will exist in the natural. 'And the land will not be cut off in the famine' means lest the person perishes.
