1221. Verses 8, 9. And it was given her that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and shining, for the fine linen is the righteousness (justitiae) of the saints. And he said unto me, Write, Blessed are they that are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he said unto me, These are true words of God.
"And it was given her that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and shining," signifies that that church should be instructed by the Lord in truths from the Word; "for the fine linen is the righteousness of the saints," signifies that by means of truths from the Word, those who believe in the Lord have the goods of life. "And he said unto me, Write," signifies that these things shall be for a memorial to posterity; "Blessed are they that are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb," signifies that those who by means of truths from the Word are conjoined to the Lord, and become the Church, will come into heaven. "And he said unto me, These are true words of God," signifies that they are from the Lord, Who is the Word and the truth.
1221. Verses 8-9. And it hath been given to her that she should be clothed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the just deeds of the saints. And he said unto me, Write, Blessed are they that have been called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he said unto me, These are the true words of God.
8. "And it hath been given to her that she should be clothed in fine linen, clean and bright," signifies that that church should be instructed by the Lord in truths from the Word (n. 1222); "for the fine linen is the just deeds of the saints" signifies that by means of truths from the Word those who believe in the Lord have the goods of life n. 1223.
9. "And he said unto me, Write," signifies that these things shall be for a memorial to posterity n. 1224; "Blessed are they that have been called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb" signifies that those who are conjoined to the Lord by means of truths from the Word and become a church will come into heaven n. 1225; "And he said unto me, These are the true words of God," signifies that they are from the Lord, who is the Word and who is the truth n. 1226.

"Et datum illi ut amiceretur byssino mundo et splendido, nam byssinum justitiae sanctorum. Et dixit mihi, Scribe, Beati qui ad cenam nuptiarum Agni vocati sunt; et dixit mihi, Haec verba vera sunt Dei."
8. "Et datum est illi ut amiceretur byssino mundo et splendido", significat quod ecclesia illa instrueretur in veris ex Verbo a Domino (n. 1222); "nam byssinum justitiae sanctorum", significat quod "per vera ex Verbo sint bona vitae illis qui credunt in Dominum (n. 1223).
9. "Et dixit mihi, Scribe", significat quod haec erunt posteritati in memoriam (n. 1224); "Beati qui ad cenam nuptiarum Agni vocati sunt", significat quod illi in caelum venturi sint, qui per vera ex Verbo conjunguntur Domino, et fiunt ecclesia (n. 1225); et dixit mihi, Haec verba vel sunt Dei", significat quod sint ex Domino, qui Verbum et qui Veritas (n. 1226).
