Apocalypse Explained (Tansley translation 1923) 953

953. Verses 7, 8. And one of the four animals gave unto the seven angels seven golden vials full of the anger of God, who liveth unto ages of ages. And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from his power; and none could enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were consummated.

"And one of the four animals gave unto the seven angels seven golden vials full of the anger of God, who liveth unto ages of ages," signifies, manifestation from the Lord by Divine truth, or the Word, of all the falsities of evil that have destroyed the spiritual life of the men of the church.

"And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from his power," signifies, Divine truth, or the Word in the natural sense in light and power from the Divine truth in the spiritual sense; "and none could enter into the temple," signifies, its being in obscurity before the understanding; "till the seven plagues of the seven angels were consummated," signifies, before evils and falsities are rejected, and those who are in them cast into hell.

And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from His power; and no one was able to enter into the temple till the seven plagues of the seven angels should be consummated.

7. "And one of the four animals gave unto the seven angels seven golden vials, full of the anger of God, who liveth unto the ages of the ages," signifies all the falsities of evil that have destroyed the spiritual life of the men of the church made manifest by the Lord by means of the Divine truth or the Word n. 954.

8. "And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from His power," signifies the Divine truth or the Word in the natural sense in light and power from the Divine truth in the spiritual sense n. 955; "and no one was able to enter into the temple," signifies that it is in obscurity before the understanding n. 956; "till the seven plagues of the seven angels should be consummated," signifies until evils and falsities have been rejected, and those who are in them cast into hell n. 957.

"Et unum de quatuor animalibus dedit septem angelis septem phialas aureas, plenas ira Dei viventis in saecula saeculorum. Et impletum est templum fumo ex gloria Dei et ex virtute Ipsius, et nemo potuit ingredi in templum donec consummarentur septem plagae septem angelorum."

7. "Et unum de quatuor animalibus dedit septem angelis septem phialas aureas plenas ira Dei viventis in saecula saeculorum", significat manifestata a Domino per Divinum Verum seu Verbum omnia falsa mali quae destruxerunt vitam spiritualem hominum ecclesiae [n. 954] .

8. "Et impletum est templum fumo ex gloria Dei et virtute Ipsius", significat Divinum Verum seu Verbum in sensu naturali in luce et potentia ex Divino Vero in sensu spirituali [n. 955] ; "et nemo potuit ingredi in templum", significat id in obscuro coram intellectu [n. 956] ; "donec consummarentur septem plagae septem angelorum", significat antequam mala et falsa rejecta sunt, et illi qui in iis conjecti in infernum [n. 957] .
