Faith10.
10. The Lord said to Thomas,
Because you have seen me, Thomas, you have believed. Blessed are those who do not see, and yet they believe. (John 20:29)
This does not mean faith apart from an inner recognition of truth, but that people are blessed who do not see the Lord with their eyes as Thomas did and who still believe that he exists, because this recognition occurs in the light of truth from the Word.
10. The Lord said to Thomas,
"Because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed." (John 20:29)
This does not imply a faith divorced from any internal acknowledgment of truth. Rather it means that those people are blessed who have not seen the Lord with their eyes, as Thomas had, and yet believe that He exists. For this is seen in the light of truth drawn from the Word.
10. The Lord said to Thomas:
Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou has believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. John 20:29.
By this is not meant a faith separate from the internal acknowledgment of truth, but that they are blessed who do not see the Lord with their eyes, as Thomas did, and yet believe that He is; for this is seen in the light of truth from the Lord.
10. The Lord said to Thomas:
Because thou hast seen Me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that do not see, and yet believe (John 20:29).
This does not mean a faith separated from the internal acknowledgment of truth; but that they are blessed who do not like Thomas, see the Lord with their eyes, and yet believe in His existence, for this is seen in the light of truth from the Word.
10. Dixit Dominus ad Thomam,
"Quia vidisti Me, Thoma, credidisti; beati qui non vident, et credunt" (Johannem 20:29);
per quod non intelligitur fides ab interna agnitione veri separata, sed quod beati sint qui non oculis vident Dominum, sicut Thomas, et usque credunt quod Ipse sit; hoc enim in luce veritatis est ex Verbo.
