Life38.任何人处于良善，并从良善热爱真理到何等程度，就热爱主到何等程度，因为主就是良善本身和真理本身。因此，主在良善和真理中与人同在。如果真理因良善而被爱，那么主就会被爱，而不是反过来。主在约翰福音教导了这一点：
有了我的诫命又遵守的，这人就是爱我的。不爱我的人就不遵守我的话。（约翰福音14:21，24）
你们若遵守我的诫命，就必住在我的爱里。（约翰福音15:10）
主的“诫命”和“话”就是真理。
38. To the extent that we are focused on what is good and love what is true for the sake of what is good, we are loving the Lord, because the Lord is goodness itself and truth itself. So the Lord is with us in what is good and in what is true. If we love truth for the sake of goodness, then and only then do we love the Lord. This the Lord tells us in John:
The people who love me are those who have my commandments and do them. Those who do not love me do not keep my words. (John 14:21, 24)
And again,
If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love. (John 15:10)
The Lord's words and commandments are truths.
38. Insofar as someone is prompted by goodness, and is prompted by goodness to love truths, so far he loves the Lord, since the Lord is goodness itself and truth itself. The Lord is present therefore with a person in goodness and truth. If someone is prompted by goodness to love truth, then the Lord is loved, but not if prompted by something else.
This the Lord teaches in John:
He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me.... (But) he who does not love Me does not keep My words. (John 14:21, 24) And elsewhere:
If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love.... (John 15:10) The Lord’s precepts, words and commandments are truths.

38. Quantum quis in bono est, et ex bono amat Vera, tantum amat Dominum, quoniam Dominus est ipsum Bonum et ipsum Verum: est itaque Dominus apud hominem in bono et in vero; si hoc ex illo amatur, tunc Dominus amatur, et non aliter, Hoc Dominus docet apud Johannem,
"Qui habet praecepta mea et facit illa, ille est qui amat Me;... qui vero non amat Me, verba mea non servat" (Johannes 14:21, 24).
Et alibi,
"Si mandata mea servaveritis, manebitis in amore meo" (Johannes 15:10);
"praecepta," "verba" et "mandata" Domini sunt vera.
