Everyone who hears my words and does them I will liken to a wise man who built his house on the rock; but anyone who hears my words and does not do them I will liken to a foolish man who built his house on the sand or on the ground without a foundation. (Matthew 7:24-27; Luke 6:47, 48, 49)
127. This statement of the Lord makes it clear that doing good things is worshipping the Lord:
Everyone who hears my words and acts on them is like a sensible man who builds his house on a rock.... But people who hear my words and do not act on them are like a foolish man who builds his house on the sand.... or right on the ground with no foundation. (Matthew 7:24-27; Luke 6:47-49)
127. It is clear from the Lord's words that doing good is worshipping the Lord:

That to worship the Lord is to do good, appears from the Lord's words, in Matthew 7:24-27, and in Luke 6:47-49, "Therefore whosoever heareth, My words, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a prudent man who built his house upon a rock. But he who heareth My words, and doeth them not, I shall liken unto a foolish man who built his house upon the sand; or upon the ground without any foundation."

127. Quod facere bonum sit colere Dominum, constat a Domini verbis
"Omnis..qui audit verba mea..et facit ea, assimilabo viro prudenti, qui aedificavit domum super petra:....at..qui audit verba mea.., et non facit ea, assimilabo viro stulto, qui aedificavit domum..super arena;" aut "super humo absque fundamento" (Matthaeus 7:24-27; Lucas 6:47-49).
