195. During our spiritual crises the Lord alone is fighting for us. If we do not believe that the Lord alone is fighting for us and winning for us, then we are experiencing only an outer crisis that does not do us much good.
195. The Lord is the only one who is doing the fighting for us in our inner struggles. If we do not believe that it is only the Lord who fights and wins for us, we are only experiencing superficial struggles, and they will not help us to accomplish all the things I mentioned.
195. It is only the Lord who fights for a person in temptations. If he does not believe that it is the Lord alone who fights for him and wins for him, then he undergoes merely external temptation, which does not do him any good.
195. The Lord alone fights for a man in temptations; and unless he believes that the Lord alone fights for him, and conquers for him, he undergoes only an external temptation, which is not of any use to him.
