Spiritual Experiences (Odhner and Nemitz translation 1998) 1008

1008. As for the Liver, it works gently, and in fact near to the head-thus almost touching the head, beneath the province of the Spleen. These spirits function in quite gentle spiral motions, and in doing so, separate [the defiled blood]. The gyres in which their operation moves are diversely orbicular.

Spiritual Experiences (Buss translation 1902) 1008

1008. As regards the liver: [Those who constitute this province] act mildly, and indeed near the head, thus almost in contact with the head beneath the province of the spleen. They act by quite mild gyres, and thus separate [the impurities of the blood]. The gyres into which their operation flows are diverse, but orbicular.
