Spiritual Experiences (Odhner and Nemitz translation 1998) 1061

1061. In heaven, then, spiritual and heavenly qualities are likewise distinguished from each other. How they are distinguished can become clear from the depictions mentioned [Gen. 2:24], that is, that matters of understanding must be coupled with heavenly qualities, so that they make one body.

Spiritual Experiences (Buss translation 1902) 1061

1061. Now, in a like manner, spiritual and celestial things are distinguished in heaven; and how they are distinguished one from the other can be plain from the above mentioned representations. As established from creation the masculine sex pertains to the class of spiritual things, but the feminine sex to that of celestial things. Hence it was a precept of the first marriage that the man should cleave unto his wife, that is to say, that intellectual things must be associated with celestial things, that they may become one body.

Experientiae Spirituales 1061 (original Latin 1748-1764)

1061. Similiter nunc distinguuntur in coelo spiritualia et coelestia, et quomodo se distinguunt, ex repraesentationibus dictis patescere potest: secundum institutionem a creatione, sexus masculinus ad spiritualium classes pertinet, at faemininus ad coelestium, inde praeceptum primi conjugii, quod adhaerebit uxori [Gen. II: 24], nempe quod intellectualia associanda sint coelestibus, ut fiant unum corpus.
