1351. There was one with them who was said to be in charge, and who spoke on their behalf so as to arouse pity for them. There were also some among them who had actually learned something from holy scripture by listening to the preaching, but even though at those moments they do hear something about those matters, yet in their own circles they become just like their companions.
1351. Among them was one who was said to have been set over them and who spoke on their behalf in order that they might be pitied. There were also among them some who in the life of the body had learned something from Holy Scripture because they had learned from preaching, for on those occasions they do indeed hear something about such things. Still they become like the others when they are in their company. 1
