1359. This is the reason, then, that the tongue symbolizes feeling for truth, for feeling is heavenly, and truth is spiritual. And it is those who have feeling for truth who constitute the province of the Tongue.
1359. The tongue, therefore, signifies the affection of truth, for affection is celestial, and truth spiritual. Thus those who enjoy the affection of truth constitute the province of the tongue.
