1510. Therefore, many of the souls complained, why are they not saved, and why are they to undergo the hardships of chastening-to which they were given the above reply [1509]. For everything evil must be subdued and then driven back, in order that they may be saved.
1510. Many of the souls, therefore, complained that they were not saved; and why did they have to undergo the hardships of devastation? It was replied to them that those things that are evil must first be subjugated and thus subdued, in order that they can be saved.
1510. Conquesti itaque sunt multi ex animabus, cur non salventur, et cur devastationis molestias subituri sint, quibus hoc [1509] responsum est, nam ea quae mala sunt, prius domanda sic redigenda ut [salvati] esse possint.
