1591. Those who are not led by the Lord not only act in partnership with evil spirits, but even arouse the evil spirits to action, because they believe their desires and thoughts are their very own; while those who are led by the Lord are aroused by the evil spirits, and the Lord acts to keep them from consenting. This too is the belief of those who are led by the Lord.

He who is not led by the Lord not only acts in concert with evil spirits, but he also excites evil spirits to act in that manner, because he believes his cupidities and cogitations to be his own; but whoever is led by the Lord, he is excited by evil spirits, and yet the Lord so acts that he shall not consent. Such also is the faith of those who are led by the Lord

Qui non ducitur a Domino, is non solum in consortio cum spiritibus malis agit, sed etiam excitat spiritus malos ad ita agendum, nam credit cupiditates et cogitata sua esse sui propria, at vero qui a Domino ducitur, is excitatur a spiritibus malis, et Dominus agit, ut non consentiat. Talis quoque est fides eorum, qui a Domino ducuntur.
