Spiritual Experiences (Odhner and Nemitz translation 1998) 2029

2029. This shows that all who have been and are humans tend backwards, or what is the same, tend downwards, consequently toward hell. If the Lord did not hold them up from hell, all would fall headlong into it. This being said to the spirits also, they keep silent. 1748, 21 May.

Spiritual Experiences (Buss translation 1902) 2029

2029. Hence it may appear that all who have been and are men tend backward, or, what is the same, tend downward, consequently to hell; unless the Lord were to raise them from hell, all would fall headlong hither, which, when it was said to the spirits, they remained silent. - 1748, May 21.
