2145. They also speak all together, in unison
There is indeed a speaking of all spirits and angels in unison, for without a speech in unison with many together, no one is able to have a mental image. The spirit then knows nothing, and is therefore stupid, as if he were worthless, but his sharpness of understanding is intensified by company and the amount of company.
2145. THAT THEY ALSO SPEAK IN SIMULTANEOUS SOCIETY.
Moreover, all the speech of spirits and angels is in society; for apart from speech, in a society consisting of many, cannot be given an idea of anything. A spirit then knows nothing, he is so stupid as to be as it were nothing. But his sagacity, consequently his speech, is directed according to society and the state of the society.
2145. Quod in societate simultanee quoque loquantur 1
Est quidem loquela omnium 2
spirituum et angelorum in societate, nam absque loquela in societate cum pluribus, non dari potest alicujus idea, spiritus tunc nihil novit, est ita stupidus, tanquam nihili esset, at secundum societatem et statum societatis intenditur acumen, et sic loquela.
