2235. I also realized how, among thousands of spirits, the spirits were arranged almost individually at the Lord's nod. But the fine distinctions, or differences, were so subtle and unfathomable, that they could not be caught sight of except in a most general way.
2235. I perceived, also, how amongst thousands of spirits they were almost arranged individually [singuli] according to the nod of the Lord; but this was to me so subtle and impenetrable, to wit, the discriminations or differences, that they could not be perceived unless in a very general manner [communissime] by a certain sight.
2235. Percepi quoque quomodo inter millia spirituum disponerentur fere singuli ad nutum Domini, sed mihi erant tam subtilia et impenetrabilia, nempe discrimina, seu differentiae, ut non potuissent, nisi communissime quodam visu percipi.
