Spiritual Experiences (Odhner and Nemitz translation 1998) 2655

2655. The mental images of human beings become spirits are examined in the other life as to their quality

In the life of the body mental images are gathered from various sources and woven together, both of earthly matters and of spiritual ones. These are examined as to what elements have been ingested in each image, for each one contains an infinity of them. Therefore such as the component elements of the mental image are, thus unlimited in number, such is the life a person is allotted after death. For a person or a person's spirit is of the same quality as his or her ideation. 1748, 19 July.

Spiritual Experiences (Buss translation 1902) 2655

2655. THAT IN LIFE THE IDEAS MEN AND HENCE OF SPIRITS ARE EXPLORED AS TO THEIR QUALITY.

In the life Of the body ideas are collected and brought together from various [sources], as well those which pertain to natural as those which pertain to spiritual things, and [in the other life] are explored according to whatsoever is contained in any idea, for any idea whatever contains infinity: thus man receives [such] a life after death as accords with the quality of those which compose his idea, consequently the indefinite [therein]: for man or his spirit is of such a nature as his ideas are. - 1748, July 19.

Experientiae Spirituales 2655 (original Latin 1748-1764)

1748, 19 Julius.
