2759. What "lead us not into temptation" [means]
In the inward sense it means, may the Lord not abandon us, or may He not slacken His Divine power, for then they fall into temptations, each into a different one, 1748, 6 Aug. These meanings I learned while praying the Lord's prayer.
2759. WHAT [IS MEANT] [BY] LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION.
In the interior sense it signifies [that] the Lord may not leave us, or remit his Divine power [vim], for thus then fall into temptations, one into this and one into that [quisque tunc in alterium]. - 1748, August 6: I have learned these things while supplicating the Lord's prayer.
2759. Quid, "ne inducas nos in tentationem" [Matth. VI: 13, Luc. XI: 4]
In sensu interiori significat, ne relinquat nos Dominus, seu ne remittat vim Divinam Ipsius, nam sic labuntur in tentationes, quisque tunc in alteram, 1748, 6 Aug.; haec 1
didici in upplicatione orationis Domini.
