2981. One realm also follows upon another, as was also shown. All realms are arranged by the Lord. Without general realms, particulars cannot exist. This too was shown, by stringed instruments, which, if they do not have a general, body-like part with which particulars may accord, cannot produce the least tone at all. So it is in all other cases.
2981. One sphere also succeeds another, which was also shown. All spheres are disposed by the Lord. Without general spheres, particulars cannot exist: which was also shown by stringed instruments. If there is not given a general [principle] thereof, as it were, a body, with which particulars accord, sound [cannot] at all [exist]: not the least can be given. It is so in everything else.
2981. Una sphaera succedit etiam alteri, quod etiam ostensum: omnes sphaerae disponuntur a Domino; absque communibus sphaeris non possunt existere particularia, quod ostensum quoque per instrumenta chordacea, quorum si non detur commune sicut corpus, cui concordent particuaria, nequaquam sonus, ne minimus dari potest, sic in omnibus reliquis.
