Spiritual Experiences (Odhner and Nemitz translation 1998) 3028

3028. When good spirits become angry, they sometimes burst forth all at once into such behavior as one cannot tell but that it comes from the worst

It has sometimes happened that I noticed some dreadful things, supposing them to be an outpouring of the worst [spirits], but it turned out to be from upright ones when they all at once grow angry, and in fact for the reason that they are not being allowed to do good. Thus they burst out by anger into the opposite, just as an upright earthly human is apt to do when angered. 1748, 1 Sept.

Spiritual Experiences (Buss translation 1902) 3028

3028. THAT GOOD SPIRITS, WHEN THEY ARE ANGRY, SOMETIMES BURST FORTH ALL AT ONCE [CITE] INTO SUCH THINGS AS CANNOT BE KNOWN TO BE DIFFERENT FROM WHAT [PROCEEDS] FROM THE WORST.

It sometimes happened that I have noticed certain dreadful things, supposing them the effusion of the worst spirits, but it appeared that they came from the upright when quickly angered, and indeed for the reason that they are not admitted to do good, thus burst out into the opposite, through anger, as is also usually the case with an upright man when angry. - 1748, September 1.

Experientiae Spirituales 3028 (original Latin 1748-1764)

1748, 1 Sept.
