3118. Earthly things come forth out of spiritual ones
I spoke with spirits about earthly things, saying that they come forth from spiritual ones, for the reason that there are spirits who relate to the bladder, ureters and the like. This is confirmed by what may be known to anyone, [namely] that acts of the body, which are earthly, come forth from thought, through the will, which are spiritual.
For this is clearly seen by means of a spiritual mental image, that is that earthly acts come forth from things they do not grasp, such as from thought through the will. So in all other cases. 1748, 10 Sept.
3118. THAT NATURALS EXIST FROM SPIRITUALS.
I spoke with spirits concerning naturals: that they exist from spirituals, for the reason, that spirits are given who relate to [referunt] the bladder, ureters and the like: and indeed was confirmed by this, which everyone can know, that the acts of the body which are natural, exist by thought through the will which are spiritual things. This is clearly perceived from spiritual idea, so that natural acts exist from such things as they do not comprehend, to wit, by thought through the will. So in everything else. - 1748, September 10.
