3389. On the brightness of innocence
I saw little children and mothers in a shining space of such brightness as to surpass all brightness. That brightness was one of innocence being portrayed as such in that realm, which brightness so differs from white that it should not be compared to it. Snowy white approaches it, but still it is such a brightness as cannot be described.
3389. CONCERNING THE BRIGHTNESS [candore] OF INNOCENCE.
(There were seen by me, infants and mothers in a lucid space, of such brightness, that [anything] brighter [is] never [seen]. The brightness was of innocence, thus represented in this sphere; which brightness is so distinguished from white [alba] that there is no comparison. Snow approaches its appearance; but still it is such a brightness as cannot be described.)
3389. De candore innocentiae
Visi mihi infantes et matres in spatio lucido, tanto candore, ut candidius nusque {a}, candor iste erat innocentiae ita in hac sphaera repraesentatae 1
, qui candor ita se distinguit ab albo, ut non comparari debeat: niveus ad apparentiam accedit, sed usque est talis candor, ut describi nequeat.
