Spiritual Experiences (Odhner and Nemitz translation 1998) 3425

3425. About mice

They are mice who, like mice, gnaw away at what are truths, just as mice gnaw at grains. They are in the highest degree mountain mice who are more educated and deceitfully [gnaw away] at what are inward things.

Spirits who are mice in the highest degree are such that they constantly trample and deceitfully distort all things that are in the process of springing forth, both truths and goods. On the way.

Spiritual Experiences (Buss translation 1902) 3425

3425. CONCERNING MICE.

(They are mice, who, like mice, tread upon [terunt] those things which pertain to truths; just as mice do to corn. Those are in the highest degree, mountain mice, who are better informed, and deceitfully tread upon those things which are more interior.

Such is the character of those spirits who are in the highest degree mice, so that they constantly trample on, and deceitfully pervert all that is growing up, be it the true or the good. In the way.)

Experientiae Spirituales 3425 (original Latin 1748-1764)

In via.
