The covering about his head, which was wide and of a brownish red color, was wrapped generously around it not unlike that of the Turks, but not folded in the same way, and also wider. It was wrapped in ample folds, about his head, not unlike [the turban] of the Turks, but not in just such folds, and also somewhat fuller. He was [enveloped] in a long cloak, almost in the fashion of the Turks. - 1748, November 12.
