4626. When any hell is opened, or when any devil appears from it, he then appears monstrous according to the nature of that hell. Some have only hairiness or a beard instead of a face, some only rows of teeth, some are severely hunchbacked, and some are like wild animals in various positions and movements. From this they are recognized for what they are also.
