All these were brought down, as said above, to three quarters and onto the plane of the Earth there, that is, where there was a large flat stretch of country, and where it looked gradually obscure, more and more into the distance, and forests were seen far away. And this accorded with their life, since they could not have love and faith in God except so obscurely, because they worshiped the Lord in such obscurity, and in so low and trifling a manner.

5380. Delati sunt omnes illi ad tres plagas, ut supra dictum, et ibi in terram planam, seu ubi planities, et ubi apparebat successive obscurum, magis et magis ad distantiam, et remote sylvae; et hoc secundum vitam eorum, quoniam illis amor et fides non potuit esse in Deum, nisi tam obscure, quia Dominum coluerunt tam in obscuro et in tam humili et levi.
