Spiritual Experiences (Odhner and Nemitz translation 1998) 5454

5454. After this I heard that they did not bother with religion and [think] scarcely other than that if there is a God, there is. If asked where God is, they said that God is in heaven. If asked whether God has created all things, they cannot conceive it, because they think He would be walking about everywhere and putting things together. In a word, they are completely empty-headed, and do not bother about truths, beyond such.

Spiritual Experiences (Buss translation 1902) 5454

5454. I heard, after this, that they do not care for religion, and scarcely anything else than that if there is a God there is; if it is asked where God is, that God is in heaven; if they are asked whether He created all things, they do not comprehend, because they suppose that, in that case, He will walk about in every direction and preserve things. In a word, they are entirely empty; neither do they care for truths, as such things [prove].
