5485. These are above ground. They are seen there and are evil. It is otherwise there with those who are in the mountains and rocks above ground level and who are below ground at various levels; they are both evil and good.
Angels and good spirits know the nature of a spirit simply from the path he takes when he goes on his way.
5485. These [habitations] are above the earth where they appear, and are evil. Those there who are in mountains and rocks above the earth, and those who are below the earth at various levels, are, differently from the former, both good and evil.
Angels and good spirits know, solely from the path which spirits pursue when they walk about, what their quality is.
5485. Haec sunt supra terram, ubi apparent, et sunt mali, aliter ibi qui supra terram in montibus et petris, et qui infra terram in variis stratis, tam mali quam boni. Angeli et spiritus boni sciunt solum ex via quam carpit spiritus cum vadit qualis est.
