Spiritual Experiences (Odhner and Nemitz translation 1998) 5537

5537. If only they think that a thing should not be done because it is morally evil, or that it is not just and fair, and therefore one must not do so, it is still well because morality like this is still full of what is spiritually good and true. It is otherwise when it is done solely on account of civil and worldly considerations.

Spiritual Experiences (Buss translation 1902) 5537

5537. If they only think that a thing ought not to be done because it is morally evil, it is still well - or, that it is not just and equitable, and that one must not do so; because such morality is still a plane for spiritual good and truth. It is otherwise when they act only on account of civil and worldly considerations.

Experientiae Spirituales 5537 (original Latin 1748-1764)

5537. Si modo cogitent quod non faciendum quia moraliter malum est, usque bene est, seu non esse justum et aequum, et quod ideo non fecit ita, quia tale morale usque est planum boni et veri spiritualis; aliter cum modo propter civilia et mundana.
