253. Due to the marriage of divine goodness and divine truth in the individual details in the Word, many passages mention both "Jehovah" and "God," or both "Jehovah" and "the Holy One of Israel," as if they were two, when in fact they are one. "Jehovah" means the Lord's divine goodness that comes from divine love. "God" and "the Holy One of Israel" mean the Lord's divine truth that comes from divine wisdom. For more on the point that "Jehovah" and "God," or "Jehovah" and "the Holy One of Israel" appear in many passages in the Word together and yet they mean One Being, see Teachings on the Lord the Redeemer.
253. On account of the marriage of Divine good and Divine truth in the details of the Word, in very many passages Jehovah and God, or Jehovah and the Holy One of Israel are mentioned as if they were two, when in fact they are one. Jehovah means the Lord as regards the Divine good of Divine love, God and the Holy One of Israel mean the Lord as regards the Divine truth of Divine wisdom. For the numerous passages in the Word where Jehovah and God, or Jehovah and the Holy One of Israel, are mentioned, while still meaning one, see on the doctrine of the Lord the Redeemer [93].
253. Owing to the marriage of Divine good and Divine truth in every particular of the Word, the expression, Jehovah [and] God, Jehovah and the Holy One of Israel very frequently occur as if they were two, when yet they are one: for by "Jehovah" the Lord in respect to the Divine good of the Divine love is meant, while by "God" and the "Holy One of Israel," the Lord in respect to the Divine truth of the Divine wisdom is meant. That Jehovah and God, and also Jehovah and the Holy One of Israel, are mentioned in many places in the Word, and yet One only is meant, may be seen in the Doctrine respecting the Lord the Redeemer.
253. On account of the marriage of Divine Good and Divine Truth in every part of the Word, the expressions, "Jehovah God," and also "Jehovah and the Holy One of Israel," so frequently occur, as if they were two, when yet they are one. For Jehovah means the Lord as to the Divine Good of the Divine Love; and God, and the Holy One of Israel, mean the Lord as to the Divine Truth of the Divine Wisdom. Although Jehovah and God, and Jehovah and the Holy One of Israel, are spoken of in many passages in the Word, still one only is meant, as may be seen in the "Doctrine concerning the Lord the Redeemer."
