  10128.“使它分别成圣”表为了接受主。这从“分别为圣”的含义清楚可知,“分别为圣”是指接受主。“分别为圣”之所以表示接受主,是因为唯独主是神圣的,因此,凡从主发出之物都是神圣的。因此,一个人接受良善,并以良善接受来自主的真理(它们都是神圣的)到何等程度,就接受主到何等程度。无论你说接受来自主的良善和真理,还是说接受主,都是一回事;事实上,良善和真理是主的,因为它们来自主,因此它们就是在天堂和教会中的主。唯独主是神圣的,一切神圣事物都是从祂发出的,因此接受祂就是分别为圣(参看922994799680981898209956998810069节)。“分别为圣”表示接受主,这一点也可从以下事实明显看出来:经上说你“要作挽回祭,分别为圣”;因为“作挽回祭”或“赎罪祭”表示从邪恶和衍生的虚假中洁净,同时来自主的真理和良善的植入(10127节)。来自主的真理和良善的植入就是对祂的接受,因而是分别为圣。类似的话出现在本章的前面,即:他们要吃那些赎罪之物,好充满手,使他们分别为圣(29:33)。在那里,“赎罪之物”表示从邪恶及其虚假中洁净(950610109节);“充满手”表示植入良善和真理,并将它们结合起来(10076节);因此,“分别为圣”表示接受来自主的良善和真理(参看10111节)。

10128. And shalt sanctify it. That this signifies to receive the Lord, is evident from the signification of "to be sanctified" as being the reception of the Lord. That "to be sanctified" denotes the reception of the Lord, is because the Lord alone is holy, and hence whatever proceeds from the Lord is holy. Therefore insofar as a man receives good, and with good truth from the Lord, which are holy, so far he receives the Lord; for whether we speak of receiving good and truth from the Lord, or receiving the Lord, it is the same. For good and truth belong to the Lord, because they are from Him, thus they are the Lord in heaven and in the church. (That the Lord alone is holy, and that everything holy proceeds from Him, and hence that to receive Him is to be sanctified, see n. 9229, 9479, 9680, 9818, 9820, 9956, 9988, 10069.) That "to be sanctified" denotes the reception of the Lord, is also evident from the fact that it is said, "thou shalt make propitiation and sanctify;" for by "making propitiation" or "expiating" is signified purification from evils and the derivative falsities, and at the same time the implantation of truth and good from the Lord (n. 10127). The implantation of truth and good from the Lord is the reception of Him, thus is sanctification; as also above in this chapter. "They shall eat those things wherein expiation was made, to fill their hand, to sanctify them" (verse 33), where by "expiation" is signified purification from evils and their falsities (n. 9506, 10109); "by filling the hand" is signified implanting good and truth, and conjoining them (n. 10076); thus by "being sanctified" is signified receiving good and truth from the Lord (see n. 10111).

10128. 'And sanctify it' means in order to receive the Lord. This is clear from the meaning of 'being sanctified' as receiving the Lord. The reason why 'being sanctified' means receiving the Lord is that the Lord alone is holy, and consequently whatever emanates from the Lord is holy. To the extent therefore that a person receives good, and with the good truth from the Lord, which are holy, he receives the Lord. Whether you say receiving goodness and truth from the Lord or receiving the Lord it amounts to the same thing; for goodness and truth are the Lord's since they come from Him, and so they are the Lord in heaven and in the Church. On these matters - that the Lord alone is holy and that everything holy emanates from Him, and consequently that to receive Him is to be sanctified - see 9229, 9479, 9680, 9818, 9820, 9956, 9988, 10069. The meaning of 'being sanctified' as receiving the Lord is also evident from the consideration that the words used are 'you shall make propitiation and sanctify'; for 'making propitiation (or expiation)' means purification from evils and consequent falsities, and at the same time the implantation of truth and good from the Lord, 10127. The implantation of truth and good from the Lord is the reception of Him, and so it is sanctification. The like occurs above in the present chapter,

They shall eat those things containing what has been expiated, to fill their hand, to sanctify them. Verse 33.

'What has been expiated' there means that which has been purified from evils and consequent falsities, 9506, 10109; 'filling the hand' means implanting goodness and truth and joining them together, 10076, so that 'being sanctified' means receiving them from the Lord, 10111.
