[NCE]1817. To give you this land to inherit symbolizes the Lord's kingdom, of which he is sole possessor. This is established by the symbolism of land — in this case the Holy Land, or the land of Canaan, which is the heavenly kingdom — and by that of inheriting, both of which were dealt with in various places above.{*1} It is the Lord's human side that is said here to inherit the land, meaning that it possessed the heavenly kingdom. After all, his divine side possessed the universe — and therefore the heavenly kingdom — from eternity.

1817. To give thee this land, to inherit it. That this signifies the Lord's kingdom, of which He alone is the possessor, is evident from the signification of the "land," here the Holy Land or Land of Canaan, as being the heavenly kingdom; and also from the signification of "inheriting," spoken of several times before. To "inherit the land," signifying to possess the heavenly kingdom, is here predicated of the Lord's Human Essence; for as to the Divine Essence He was the Possessor of the universe, consequently of the heavenly kingdom, from eternity.
Elliott(1983-1999) 1817
1817. 'To give you this land to inherit' means the Lord's kingdom, of which He alone is the Possessor. 'This is clear from the meaning of 'land', here the Holy Land or Canaan, as the heavenly kingdom, and also from the meaning of 'inheriting', dealt with in various places already. 'Inheriting the land', which means possessing the heavenly kingdom, has reference here to His Human Essence; for as regards the Divine Essence He was from eternity the Possessor of the universe, and therefore of the heavenly kingdom.
