Apocalypse Explained (Tansley translation 1923) 910

910. Crying with a great voice to him that sat upon the cloud. That this signifies annunciation after exploration or visitation, is evident from the signification of crying with a great voice, as denoting annunciation, of which we shall speak presently. The reason why this is after visitation is, that it is announced to Him who sat upon the cloud that the hour for reaping was come, because the harvest of the earth was ripe. That by Him who sat upon the cloud, is meant the Lord in the heavens, may be seen above (n. 2242). That the day of visitation is the last state of the church in general (n. 10509, 10510); thus, when the Old Church is desolated, and the New Church established (n. 6588). And that it is the damnation of the unfaithful, and the salvation of the faithful (n. 6588, 10623). That visitation also is the Advent of the Lord, because the Lord then comes to judgment (n. 6895).

910. Crying out with a great voice to Him that sat upon the cloud, signifies announcement after exploration or visitation. This is evident from the signification of "crying out with a great voice," as being announcement (of which presently). It means after visitation because it is announced "to Him who sat upon the cloud, that the hour to reap is come, because the harvest of the earth is dried up." "He that sat upon the cloud" means the Lord in the heavens (See above, n. 2242.

That "the day of visitation" means the last state of the church in general, 10509, 10510;

thus when the old church is laid waste and a New Church is established, 6588.

Also that it means the damnation of the unfaithful and salvation of the faithful, 6588, 10623.

That visitation means also the coming of the Lord, because the Lord then comes to judgment, 6895.)

910. "Clamans magna voce sedenti super nube." Quod significet annuntiationem post explorationem seu visitationem, constat ex significatione "clamare voce magna", quod sit annuntiatio, de qua sequitur; quod sit post visitationem, est quia annuntiavit sedenti super nube quod "venerit hora metendi, quia aruit messis terrae"; quod per "sedentem super nube" intelligatur Dominus in caelis, videatur supra (n. 906); quod per "magnam vocem" hujus angeli significetur annuntiatio de statu ecclesiae post visitationem, est quia "vox" involvit illa quae dixit, quae sunt quae sequuntur. Dicitur annuntiatio post explorationem seu visitationem, quia visitatio praecedit separationem, et post separationem fit ultimum judicium. Dominus "missurus sit angelos suos cum tubae voce magna, qui congregabunt electos Ipsius a quatuor ventis" (Matthaeus 24:31):

non quod aliqui angeli mittantur ad congregandum illos, sed quod Dominus per Divinum suum Verum hoc faciat; nam per "angelos", ut prius dictum est, significantur Divina vera. Similiter
