827. 19:15 Out of His mouth went forth a sharp sword. This symbolizes the dispersion of falsities by the Lord by means of doctrine from the Word, as is apparent from the explanation in no. 52 above, where the Lord is similarly described. He is there called the Son of Man, and the Son of Man means the Lord in relation to the Word (no. 44). He who sat on the white horse is here similarly described, because the dispersion of falsities is accomplished by the Lord through the Word.
827. [verse 15] That 'And out of His mouth a sharp sword was proceeding' signifies the dispersion of untruths by means of the doctrine derived thence from the Lord, is plain from the things expounded above (52) where similar things [are said] of the Lord, Who is there called the Son of Man, and by 'the Son of Man' is understood the Lord as to the Word (44). Likewise here by the One riding upon the white horse; for the dispersion of untruths is effected by means of the Word from the Lord.
827. Verse 15. And out of His mouth went forth a sharp sword. That it signifies the dispersion of falsities, by doctrine from the Lord is manifest from the things explained above, (52), where similar things are said of the Lord, who is there called the Son of man; and by the Son of man is meant the Lord as to the Word, (44[1-2]); here in like manner by "Him that sitteth upon the white horse": for the dispersion of falsities is effected by the Lord through the Word.
827. (Vers. 15.)
